About Us admin 2016-11-30T08:55:04+00:00
We are Christian, Jewish, Arab (Muslim and Christian) and lay people working at Saint Vincent Ain Karem with the sisters. We are nurses, physiotherapists, social workers, various caregivers, a physician, a dietician and an occupational therapist. In addition, there is the office, kitchen, laundry and garden staff. Also, volunteers from around the world generously help and support us in our work.

Saint Vincent Ain Karem works in coordination with the Israeli Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare and is overseen by the Handicapped Services Division.

Daughters of Charity

soeurs-chapelle

Four Sisters work full-time and reside at Saint Vincent Ain Karem. They belong to a catholic congregation called the Daughters of Charity, whose motherhouse is in Paris. The congregation has been created in France in 1633 by Saint Vincent de Paul and Louise de Marillac in response to the urgent needs of the poor.

The Daughters of Charity is an international order of apostolic life, which includes some 16000 women. It devotes itself to serving Jesus Christ by helping the poor, with love and with material support. The sisters lead a simple community existence, where they share all they possess and where they celebrate life as well as their faith. Acting in complete freedom, the sisters go where people suffer, where their dignity is trampled, and with help, respect and friendship, they attempt to give back a place in society to the forgotten and the most vulnerable.

The Daughters of Charity are established in Israel since 1886 and in 1964 our house was founded in Ein Karem.

Core Values

Respect
We have the highest regard for each child. We respect their individual needs and personalities at every level of care, from the most basic to the most complex.Read more...

Quality of Service
This witnesses the tenderness of God toward His children. Our total commitment is to improve each aspect of quality of life for the children. We keep analyzing their needs and we modify the services as needed. It goes from trying to reduce levels of physical pain to encouraging and helping each one of them to reach his/her full potential.

Simplicity
Honesty, integrity and straightforwardness. Simplicity consists in recognizing the following: however fast we have to modify the services in order to adapt them to each child’s constantly evolving needs, one thing never changes: our basic goal, which is to serve to the fullest the needs of every single child.

Pluralism
We welcome all, regardless of race or religion. This applies to the children, their families and to all who work or collaborate with us.

Advocacy for the Poor
The rights of our children and their families and our employees are a primary concern.

Peace
We encourage peace and reconciliation by way of love and friendship for all, in contrast with violence, discrimination, exclusion and ethnic conflict.

Infinite Inventivity
This has been a long tradition within the ministries of the Daughters of Charity. It consists of searching solutions to problems one step at a time, while keeping always focused on our fundamental values.

The Medical Team

My name is Dr. Natali Dehtiar, I’m a pediatric specialist. I work at Saint Vincent Ain Karem since December 2012; when I came here I tried to make the work more modern and easy, I guided the clinic team to enter all the medical documents into the computer and to arrange all the manual documents. We dropped all unnecessary forms, sent old documents to the archive and built well organized library for the manual documents and forms. Now all the letters, referrals to consultants and hospitalization documents are computerized. All the children have an updated medical report. We also arranged the medicine room, now each child has a private cell with his chronic medication. If necessary the children can have a second opinion of professional doctors and consultants. I’m glad to work with a professional and very friendly clinic staff.

“In my daily life I wear masks, here at Saint Vincent I’m myself.” Tells Dafna’s mother in this video broadcasted in 2013 on Channel 10, Israel.

Your support is very important so that we can continue our work and always guarantee our children a quality of service that suits their needs. Thank you !
